A OBRA DO BERÇO

Obra do Berço is a non-profit, social assistance institution with CEBAS certification by the MDS (today the Special Secretariat for Social Development), founded in 1928 by a group of ladies to provide assistance services to women in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, with outfitting, prenatal care and childcare. From 1940 onwards, it developed an institutional shelter program, today called Institutional Reception, with socio-educational actions and the strengthening of socio-family bonds.
